Seafood Market Direct (seafoodmarketdirect.com) is a seafood business directory covering the United States, coast to coast. The platform is operated by Lagniappe IT, located in Mandeville, Louisiana.

This is the most important section of our Privacy Policy. When you create an account and use Seafood Market Direct:

Your email address is shared with registered seafood businesses on this platform.

Specifically:

  • Businesses with active paid listings have access to the email addresses of registered users
  • They may use this to send promotional emails about their products, services, and specials
  • Businesses are contractually prohibited from selling your email to third parties, using it for illegal purposes, adding it to unrelated mailing lists, or sharing it with other businesses

What businesses CANNOT do with your data (per their agreement with us):

Sell or trade your email address to any third party
Use your information for illegal purposes
Send emails unrelated to their seafood business
Share your data with other businesses or data brokers
Harass, stalk, or discriminate against you
If you receive emails from a business that you believe violates these rules, report it to [email protected] and we will investigate and take appropriate action, including account termination where warranted.

We use session cookies to keep you logged in while you browse the platform. These are strictly necessary for account functionality and are cleared when you log out or close your browser (depending on your settings).

Account Data
Retained until you delete your account. Upon deletion, we will remove your personal data from our active systems.
Price Reports
Retained indefinitely as public platform data. If you submitted a report while logged in, your display name is attached. Anonymous reports have no personal identifier.
Session Logs
Purged after 90 days. Used only for security and fraud detection purposes.

We use industry-standard security measures including password hashing (passwords are never stored in plaintext), HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, and access controls that limit which personnel can access platform data.

No system is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable state law, including the New York SHIELD Act, California CCPA/CPRA, Texas TDPSA, Florida FDBR, and other applicable breach notification laws.

Seafood Market Direct is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child under 13 has created an account or submitted personal information on our platform, please contact us immediately at [email protected]. We will investigate and delete the account and all associated data promptly.
